See this video where Mbuka invites people to his exhibition in Japan. It is in Kiswahili but you can see Mbuka life anyway! |
Mbuka means "a lion" in local language and sure you will see lions in Mbuka's paintings! The man in the background is Edward Saidi Tingatinga, the painters' Guru |

Dear visitor! I want to tell you that Mr.Mbuka is an important Tinga Tinga painter. He was recently Vice Chairman of Tinga Tinga Cooperative and in 2012 he presented Tinga Tinga paintings in Japan where he made 3 separate visits. It was impossible since winter 2011 to get any paintings. All paintings went to exhibitions in Japan. It was first in January 2013 when Mr.Mbuka approached me and asked to put these paintings on Tinga Tinga Studio website. I am excited to do it and sincerely hope that you will enjoy too. |
